We've been told to do more to get more.

We've been told to become more 'resilient' as if we are weak for not coping with the way we've set up life and the relationship with ourselves - event though we were told to set up this way to be 'successful' 🤔 .

We've been told that we need to meditate or be kind to ourselves or just relax more - but we don't even understand what the hell that means! 😩 

And so we start questioning everything - our own sanity, the life we have and what to do about it and this my love is a beautiful thing....

As a result...

We have lost ourselves in the doing and the striving.

We have lost our connection with food & trust in our bodies.

We have jumped from one thing to the next without ever resting or stopping.

We have let go of the most important relationship we can ever have - with ourselves and our 2 best friends - our body and our breath.

We have pleased others and controlled everything to be accepted but it got us nowhere.

Until we wonder what is it all for?

And you hear yourself saying 'But I did it all right?!' 'Why do I feel like this?' What's wrong with me?'

We have made just being invisible and enjoying and finding true calm COMPLICATED.

And the meaning has evaporated.

But there is nothing wrong with you. You are 'normal' and exactly where you need to be.

 

 

The aftermath?

 

Fatigue. Irritability. PMS. Thyroid disorders. Adrenalin fuelled living. Dopamine excess. Headaches. Autoimmune conditions. Sleep issues. Loss of appetite. Digestion issues. Food sensitivities. Inability to gain or lose weight. 

Along with...

Anxiety. Panic. Excessive Worry. Lows. Anger. Burn out. Wanting to give up. Endless thinking. Controlling, Avoiding, Hiding. Pretending we are ok when we are not.

A mind that is ruling us.

And then it's a slippery slope.

Healthy habits disappear. Netflix is your only relaxation routine. Relationships become problematic. 

You start living like a robot just surviving instead of a human that has the choice to THRIVE. Regardless of circumstances.

All of these 'signs' are asking you to stop. To pay attention. To recreate.

it is a gift.

And so you try...

Doing nothing and hoping it will all fix itself.

Googling everything and reading everything you can.

Going it alone and being secretive with your own pain.

Asking for others help but because your pain is invisible - no one gets it.

Accessing a free therapy plan but it takes you nowhere and makes you feel worse.

Slapping bandaids on it and using uppers and downers to get by.

Escaping with habits you know are not helping.

A diet or 2 or an ad hoc meditation or 2.

Breathing through it.

Until getting the support you need feels like a full time job.

Before

THIS WAS ME IN CRASH MODE

Lost. Addicted to uppers and downers. Highly anxious (that's me comparing myself looking at someone else I admired). Kidney infections. Earning a tonne of money - had no meaning. Whipping myself to succeed. Dire relationships. You might be thinking I look ok - but inside I was broken. Suicidal. 

Shortly after this picture was taken I nearly drowned and was revived back to life. It was the wake up call I needed to live life on my terms and never look back.
I intensively transformed my life. It took years. I did every therapy there was and studied ALOT. And over the years I returned to burn out city over and over like a well trodden path. Until....

Hey there... I'm Heidi.

Let's make the next part of your life the greatest it can be.

I used to think that real strength was more doing and more progressing. Until I broke over and over.

Now I know that internal strength is about the relationship you have with yourself and a few practices you never let go of.

Life for sure has thrown me some serious curb balls I never saw coming.

Where ever you are at - I feel you.

I've dealt with trauma, a mind that ruled me and I've been in holes I thought I couldn't get out of. Let's just say that burn out and crashes - we've hung out together a few times.

During my 42 circles around the sun, parenting a special needs kid alone and tackling anxiety head on - I've learned a few things about burn out, perfectionism, health, stress, resiliency and creating a relationship with yourself that rocks.

The system or 'modern way' of overcoming stress related issues (that I believe are a gift to wake up) doesn't work. It's simply boring. Done with the system in 2009 I bravely launched a retreat to take you from 0 (in a hole) to 100 (living life on your terms) in 7 days. Turns out it worked! Turns out lots of peeps from all over the world flew in to bravely transform themselves and for 15 years I've worked the front lines of stress, anxiety, depression and more - there is nothing I haven't seen or heard.

Covid butchered that business. So now you do this with me at home 👏 . Instead of hiding behind the curtain of my retreat I've been forced to take photos of myself/video myself 😩 and put what I do online to help the masses. So here we are together 😍
